Families

A Family is a collection of related Attribute Groups and Attributes that define your product.

For example, Phone is a Family to which "Attribute Groups" such as memory, screen, and processor are mapped and subsequently, the "Attributes" namely RAM, ROM, External memory, Card capacity, Screen size, Screen type, Operating system, frequency are mapped to the related "Attribute Groups".

The users who have access permission to the 'Families' can view the below details in the system.

How to create a new family in DCKAP PIM?

• To create a new "Family" click the 'Create Families' button at the top right of the screen. On click of the button a slider window opens and displays the "Create Families" screen.

• Enter the required fields such as,

TITLE	DESCRIPTION
Code	Used to create unique code for families. Note: code is used to identify the family if there are multiple families with the same names.
Status	It shows the status of families either Active or In-active.
Family Name	To create a name for the families(you can add multiple language name).

• Click on 'Save' button at the top right corner to save the information and create a new families. Users can also click on 'Cancel' to reset all the information and return to the main screen.

How to add attributes or groups in a family in the DCKAP PIM?

• In the "Family Table" view, a list of the created "Families" are displayed.

• Click on the 'Assign' icon to add the family group and pop-up opens to 'Assign Family'.

• Select the "Attributes" and "Attribute Groups" to assign family and click on 'Add' button.

How to remove mapped attributes in a family in the DCKAP PIM?

• In the "Family Table" view, A list of the created "Families" are displayed.

• Click on the 'Assign' icon to remove the family from a mapped attribute and pop-up opens to 'Un-assign Family'.

• In the pop-up, A table will be displayed with already mapped attributes for the selected family.

• Click on the 'Trash' icon to remove the mapped attribute from the family.

How to sort a family in DCKAP PIM?

• In the "Family Table" view, a list of the created "Families" are displayed.

• Click on the 'Sort' icon to assign the sort order of attribute groups.This will reflect in the sorting order of attribute groups on the sidebar of the 'Products' page within DCKAP PIM . This helps you keep the regularly used attribute groups on the top of the order, making product navigation easier.

• A sort pop-up opens and then you can change the order by entering the number.

• Add click on the 'Save' button to save changes.

How to edit a family in DCKAP PIM?

• In the "Family Table" view, a list of the created "Families" are displayed.

• Click on the 'Pencil' icon to edit the "Family" and pop-up opens to 'Edit Family'.

• Update the necessary data of the selected family.

• Then click on the 'Save' button to save changes or 'Cancel' to discard the changes.

How to delete a Family in DCKAP PIM?

• In the "Family Table" view, a list of the created "Families" are displayed.

• Click on the 'Trash' icon and a confirmation pop-up will be displayed.

• Click on 'Delete' button to delete family or 'Cancel' button to discard.
