Functionality

This extension facilitates the transfer of Attributes, Groups, Attribute Sets, Products, and associated data to a specific Magento site. It supports multi-store and multi-website setups, with configuration options available to set up store and website information.

Pre-requisites

This extension operates using the Magento default API. Ensure that your specific Magento instance has API access before using the extension. If not, please refer to the documentation provided to enable the API endpoint in Magento.

Performance Considerations

The speed of the import process depends on your Magento instance. PIM is capable of pushing product content through a parallel processing method, enhancing efficiency.

Limitations

The PIM Extension only uses the default API endpoint of Magento. Third-party API extensions within Magento are not supported by PIM. As a default behavior, the PIM platform does not synchronize frequently updated product content, such as Item Inventory and Pricing information, with Magento. This approach is taken due to the periodic nature of PIM's product information synchronization process. Instead, PIM sets this information at the time of product creation, as these values are required fields for Magento Product Creation. However, PIM have the option to configure the synchronization settings if needed, allowing for flexibility in managing product data between PIM and Magento.

Magento Data Transfer Process

To transfer data to Magento, follow these steps:

  1. Store Setting Setup in Configuration: Configure the connection settings for your Magento store.

  2. Attribute Mapping Setup: Define the relationships between attributes in PIM and Magento.

  3. Sync: Initiate the synchronization process to transfer data.

  4. Scheduler: Configure scheduling options for automated data transfers.

  5. Log: Review logs for information on the data transfer process.
